General Information
Why is The Affirmative Couch closing?
This was a difficult decision, brought on by several personal, business, and political challenges. We founded the Affirmative Couch to make training for affirmative therapy more accessible to more clinicians throughout the country. We wanted to make an impact on more clients than we could see in our caseloads.
The Affirmative Couch was a small family business run by a transgender couple. Our personal lives have been tremendously impacted in the past year between the Los Angeles fires and relocation, family illnesses and death, and our own responses to the political attacks on transgender existence. The latter has impacted us both personally and professionally. It’s a taxing effort to continue educating in an oppressive environment. We are looking forward to cultivating all the lessons from The Affirmative Couch and building new offerings in our private practice. Keep in touch with us here!
Are The Affirmative Couch courses available elsewhere?
No. These courses are no longer available, however Dr. Cadyn and Melissa still value the community experiences in affirmative continuing education. Both remain available for in service trainings and consultation through their private practice.
Course Completion
How long do I have to complete the courses I’ve purchased?
You must complete all purchased courses before November 29, 2025. Your account will no longer be accessible after this date. Please note: Refunds will not be issued for incomplete courses.
Can I still enroll in new courses?
New course enrollment closed on November 22, 2025. You have until November 29, 2025 to finish any courses you enrolled in before that date.
Certificates and Documentation
How can I access my course certificates?
You must download all your course certificates for your records before November 29, 2025. They will be inaccessible from your account after this date.

Can I download a course I’ve purchased?
Our platform does not allow for course downloads. We strongly recommend that you download any course slides and materials for your records before November 29, 2025
