Become an Affirmative Therapist through our CE courses

Affirmative psychotherapists have experience, training, and expertise in working with sexuality-, gender-, and relationship-expansive communities. Affirmative psychotherapists understand the implications of intersectionality for LGBTQIA+, consensually non-monogamous, and/or kink clients who are also people of color, disabled, neurodiverse, or sex workers, or who hold other marginalized identities.

Becoming an affirmative therapist requires training.

We offer a wide variety of CNM, kink, and LGBTQIA+ continuing education courses available to therapists, psychologists, and others looking to improve their understanding of these communities and the issues that affect them. Led by experts in their respective fields, these CE courses help ensure that the field of affirmative psychotherapy is filled with individuals poised to better assist individuals in sexuality-, gender-, and relationship-expansive communities.

Affirmative Couch is an affirmative psychotherapy CE provider approved by the American Psychological Association. Many state boards for marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, and licensed social workers accept CE courses by organizations sponsored by the APA.
