Psychologist (PhD/PsyD):

1. Do CEs from the Affirmative Couch count for my state and license?

Yes.

The Affirmative Couch, LLC is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Affirmative Couch, LLC maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

2. How many CEs are required by my state?

Ten hours of continuing education every year. After Jan 1, 2016 CE shall include not less than two contact hours of training or education (and not less than once every six years thereafter) on the topic of mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans, including (A) determining whether a patient is a veteran or family member of a veteran, (B) screening for conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, risk of suicide, depression and grief, and (C) suicide prevention training.

LMFT:

1. Do CEs from the Affirmative Couch count for my state and license?

Yes. Connecticut accepts APA and NBCC CE.

15 CE hours, including a minimum of 1 hour of cultural competency, every year. Licensees must complete at least two hours of training during the first renewal period in which continuing education is required and not less than once every six years thereafter on the topic of mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans, including (1) determining whether a patient is a veteran or family member of a veteran, (2) screening for conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, risk of suicide, depression and grief, and (3) suicide prevention training. Course content must be relevant to the practice of marriage and family therapy.

3. How many CEs can be taken online by my state?

LMFTs can earn all 15 CE credits online

Social Workers:

1. Do CEs from the Affirmative Couch count for my state and license?

Yes. The board accepts APA and ASWB CE
