Get to know Justice Johnson:
Justice joined The Affirmative Couch team in August 2024 as the Administrative Assistant. She is also a graduate student in Cal State LA’s School-based Family Counseling program with 5 years of experience supporting children in academic and mental health settings. Justice is passionate about working with children and their families.
What does affirmative psychotherapy mean to me?
To me, affirmative psychotherapy means challenging ourselves as clinicians to unlearn beliefs that negatively impact our clients in order to appreciate their full selves.
What populations do I work with?
What is my level of expertise (friendly, knowledgeable, expert) for each of those populations?: I am friendly in working with youth from ages 8-18 of various races, genders, and abilities.
What is my approach to healing?
I take an eccentric approach to healing and emphasize meeting clients where they are. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship and work with families to strengthen their connection because I believe healing happens in relationships.
